The sleeping cabin

The finished, insulated, drywalled “sleeping cabin” is about 8’x8′, with a tiny porch, all surrounded by a garden.  Just big enough for a queen-size bed, there are insulated windows on all sides, a big antique oak door, and built-in book shelves at the foot of the bed on either side of the door. Any time of year, it’s the coziest, most romantic place we’ve ever slept…like sleeping in a treehouse.

We recently added a handy and beautiful little covered deck off the side away from the road, to accommodate a sawdust toilet, private and protected from the wind and weather.
